Any how-to book for writers describing the hero’s journey as promoted by Joseph Conrad and how to use this method in fiction. I had such a book once upon a time but it’s long since disappeared so I went online to see if I could find it and, instead, discovered over 20 pages on Amazon devoted to books related to the hero’s journey.
In the book I had, mention was made of movie producers who won’t produce a movie until an expert on the hero’s journey has gone over the script to make sure that all phases of the journey exist and are done correctly.
It’s that important! Really!
So if you want to learn how to tell a story as readers expect them to be told and as publishers look for in works of fiction that they are considering publishing, find a book for writers that tell you how to use the hero’s journey in your writing and follow that advice.
