As you know, my last novel The Pathfinder, the first of the Wilderness Women series was recently published by Winged Publications. I’m working on the next novel, the second of the series, titled The Snow Queen.
Yep, as you might have guessed, it takes place in the winter and it’s now the height of summer, which produces some rather odd situations for me. I sit down at my computer and start writing and soon am caught up in the story of a couple who are stranded by a blizzard with supplies running out and no hope of rescue so they must decide whether to trek through the storm to a safe place or sit tight and hope for the best.
So I write until I reach a stopping place and then get up and walk into another room with the intent of turning up the thermostat because it’s the middle of winter and I don’t want to get cold.
Except — oops! — it’s summer so instead of turning up the heat I find I might want to turn up the air conditioner.
Such is the life of a writer and you’d think I’d know better by now. But I don’t.
