I’m a wordsmith so when I hear people talk, I listen.
Not long ago, I heard a political activist tear apart someone who advocated for a different kind of solution to a problem instead of accepting the speaker’s narrow definition what was wrong.
The speakers were angry with each other. Very angry.
When I went home, I thought about what had happened. The first speaker said we must change our ways. So did the second person but he said it differently.
Same idea, different words. Just words. No reason for anger.
So why were they arguing? I’ll never know.
But it brought home to me how powerful and emotional words can be.
