I’ve been asked: What to do with a novel that’s well written but not marketable now because no one is buying books about the subject matter?
Put the manuscript on a shelf and pull it out later when the world has moved on and people — and publishers — are eager for books on that subject.
I once was in the same situation. I made the mistake of throwing away an entire manuscript because I didn’t realize that some day it might sell.
When the world changed and the subject of my book was exactly what was selling, I no longer had a book to publish.
Don’t make the same mistake.
