Went for a walk the other day and this was what I found just off the driveway. In the woods just far enough that I’d not have seen it if I hadn’t followed Bailey into the trees to see what she was sniffing at. Nothing as far as I could tell and she came wagging her tail to meet me. But in the process of doing nothing, I found a small patch of yellow wildflowers.

Wildflowers are my favorite kind and I see them everywhere. I don’t know what they are called and so I’ve learned to categorize flowers by color. These are ‘yellow wildflowers.’

Anyone know what they are called by people who actually know flowers?

  1. I love wildflowers! God gives us such wonderful sights to enjoy. I’m not sure of the exact name of these flowers, but they sure are beautiful. 🙂

  2. Hi Florence, the flowers are beautiful, I don’t know what they are. When my husband and I take our pup for a walk in the mornings , we walk in the desert and it is really nice seeing all the wild flowers and cacti, and all the little creatures we see in the desert. God’s creation is Awesome! Have a Great week ! Stay safe and take care. God Bless you and your family.

  3. I’m glad I’m not the only one who categorizes flowers by color. Guess there are a lot of us out there.
My late husband was an artist, turning wood vases. My part of the family endeavor was finding dried weeds and flowers to display them best. I loved walking through the forest and fields and along the roadsides to find just the right flowers or weeds.
Once I asked the Extension agent about them and was given more information than I could possibly absorb. The man was a walking encyclopedia of growing things and I learned a lot.
Then I went home and returned to categorizing flowers and pretty weeds by color.
